J. M. Hanks Early College High School, founded in 2020, provides an exceptional dual enrollment opportunity between Ysleta ISD and El Paso Community College to help students complete an Associate Degree upon graduation. Our Award-winning Fine Arts programs, outstanding Athletic opportunities, and rich tradition of Academic excellence will provide our students a well-balanced high school experience. School Design
J.M. Hanks Early College High School, located at 2001 N. Lee Trevino Dr., offers tuition-free college classes, free textbooks, and bus transportation for students. Depending on students’ career plans and high school extracurricular activities, ECHS students may take classes for college credit onsite, online, or at the EPCC Valle Verde campus.
TSIA 2.0 Exam
The TSIA exam is a requirement for most college classes taken at the high school level. Ysleta ISD offers the TSIA exam to students in 8th grade who apply to J.M. Hanks Early College High School. Additionally, students have several opportunities during the summer before high school and during their first semester of high school to take the TSIA exam.

Faculty Professional Development
J.M. Hanks Early College High School faculty members participate in all professional development opportunities which are required by El Paso Community College and in all professional development opportunities offered by the Ysleta Independent School District.
