J.M. Hanks Early College High School Professional Development Plan

All teachers are required to participate in district and professional development.

• July 21 - 25: YISD Professional Development

• July 22: YISD and EPCC Job Alike at EPCC

• August 19-21:  EPCC Dual Credit Faculty Inservice Trainings

• August 13:  YISD Professional Development

• October 20: YISD Professional Development

• January 6:  YISD Professional Development

Every Tuesday in the School Year our J. M. Hanks Early College HS Teachers participate in J.M. Hanks HS Professional Development.  Topics have included:

• Formative Technology Software to create digital exams, quizzes, and interactive classroom activities

• YISD Academic Language Programs training on strategies to support Emerging Bilingual students

• Instructional Coaches Make-and-Take:  What to say instead of “I don’t know….”

• Talk, Read, Talk, Write and Accountable Talks, All new teachers are provided with a Mentor and attend monthly training at District Level

Every Semester IHE EPCC meets with campus staff providing dual credit and they discuss what the current changes are and what to expect for the upcoming semester.
